BOGAZICI UNIVERSITY

Bogazici University was established in 1863 and became a state run university in 1971. The university is located in Istanbul, the largest city in Turkey and fifth largest in the world, with a current population of more than 12.8 million. Known for its historical significance, Istanbul is now becoming increasingly popular for its rich social and cultural activities.

Students who attend Bogazici University will apply directly to one of the university faculties but may elect to take courses in other departments. Courses in intensive Turkish are also available.

Participants during the fall or spring earn regular UT in residence credit and all grades earned are computed into the UT-Austin GPA. Summer students receive transfer credit that may be used as in residence credit in many cases.
