The School of Russian and Asian Studies (SRAS) provides the
opportunities to gain in-depth Russian language study and Russian area
studies in a variety of sites all over Russia, from the cultural
capital of St. Petersburg, to the political center of Moscow, from the
broad and beautiful expanse of Siberia, to the eastern reaches of
Vladivostok.
Students have a program core of intensive language study and cultural
immersion, combined with courses covering subjects from culture and
history to politics and economics. Choose from one of 3 tracks:
Russian Language, Area Studies in Moscow, St. Petersburt, Irkutsk, or
Vladivostok, or an Internship program. Study at the SRAS center, or
direct enroll into prominent Russian universities.

Academic Information
SEMESTER: Students choose from multiple different locations and/or focuses. Students earn 15-18 hours of transfer credit upon successful completion of the program. SUMMER: Students choose from locations, focuses, and time-frames, but generally must study at least 6 weeks.

Students can choose from a variety of focuses and locations, including Russian Language, Diplomacy & Int'l Relations, Environmental Studies, Far East studies, Museum Studies, Business, and internships. Select the location below for a full list of program options.

- Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee acceptance
- RL & AS: Recommended 3.0 GPA and good standing. No Russian required.
- Internship: Some Russian recommended, but not required.
- MGIMO in Moscow: Adv Russian required, determined by placement test.

Housing
Students generally live in dormitory-style housing (included in program fee). Students may choose to stay in home stays for an additional fee, which also includes 2 meals.

Program costs vary by program and location. See SRAS's website for cost details of each site. Budget reflects MGIMO (no-language) for semester; Moscow 6-week language for summer. (Other sites include Moscow, St. Petersburg, Irkutsk, & Vladivostok. Also Ukraine & Kyrgyzstan.)
