Part of the International Internship Program. As China's financial and commercial center, Shanghai is responsible for the country's transformation to an economic global powerhouse. This rapidly growing cosmopolitan city enjoys a fast-paced and diversified economy and 9 of the world's 100 largest business firms are headquartered in Shanghai.

The Shanghai internship program offers full-time summer internship placements for all majors. Internships are customized to students skill sets, prior work experience, current academic pursuits and future career goals. Placements are possible in a range of industry sectors.

Students also participate in cultural activities, professional development workshops, survival Mandarin classes, and service learning opportunities.

Credit is not included in this program. UT has 90+ internship courses. Students should talk with their academic advisor to determine whether to take an internship course through their department. Final decision to award credit rests with the student's school/college.

Students live in shared apartments located close to public transportation. Single room option is available for an additional fee. Apartments have kitchens, dining/living spaces and WIFI. UT students are housed with other UT students. Commute times are 1 hour on average.

Program Cost

Fees includes housing, cultural activities, administrative costs, transportation to/from work and on-site orientation. Program fee does not include airfare, insurance, $500 refundable housing deposit, and personal expenses. Eligible for Freeman Stipend. **One student will win a $500 travel voucher!**
