MAYMESTER: MECHATRONICS IN SHENZHEN

Students take the Mechatronics course at the Tsinghua Graduate Campus in Shenzhen, China. Tsinghua has recently been ranked the number 1 university in the world for engineering. The Mechatronics course explores topics such as electrical circuits, electronics and electromechanics. By participating in this course, students grasp a global understanding of the mechatronic design and manufacturing field that often occurs within the East Asian regions. While in Shenzhen, a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in China, students will visit local industries. In addition to technical tours and course-related work, students participate in cultural activities and expand their understanding of Chinese culture and history. Students have the option to participate in an Industry Immersion project following the Maymester course. Participants in the Industry Immersion project will stay an additional 5 weeks and gain practical workplace experience within engineering focused and related companies.
