Waseda University is a private research university in Japan with a
student population of approximately 42,000 undergraduate studetns and
8,000 graduate students. It consistently ranks among the most
academically selective and prestigious universities in Japan and is
considered the best private university in Japan.
Fall 2019 dates are tentative and subject to change. Students wishing
to apply for the AY2019-2020 must submit the UT (MySAO) application by
February 15 in order to make the Waseda nomination and secondary
application deadline of March 1.

Students must enroll in the equivalent of 12 UT hours of coursework per semester while at Waseda University. Please check the My Credit Abroad database for courses that have been previously evaluated. If your courses are not listed, please work with your Program Coordinator to get courses pre-approved. Competitive admissions.

- Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee acceptance
- Minimum 3.0 GPA, good academic standing.
- No pending disciplinary cases with the Dean of Students.
- Japanese language evaluation of 610D or higher.
- Seniors can not participate during their last semester at UT.

Housing
Special dormitories for exchange students: the Waseda University International Student House, Waseda Hoshien, and Nishi-Waseda International Student House, which are within walking distance of Waseda, Toyama and Nishi-Waseda campus, respectively. Some students choose to stay in private apartments or with home stay families.

Program Cost
Students pay a $75 non-refundable application fee and regular UT tuition, and are responsible for airfare, passport/visa, housing, food, local transportation, and other costs of living. Students are required to purchase international health insurance. Financial aid and scholarships may be used.
