LOCATION CHANGED TO BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA FOR 2021. Engineering for Urban Living in Milan leverages the innovations taking place in and around the city, that have the shared goal of making the living experience safer, cleaner, healthier, and more enjoyable for urban populations. These goals align with the four themes of the National Academy of Engineering Grand Challenges for Engineering in the 21st century: sustainability, health, security, and joy of living. Assignments for the Engineering Communication course are based on these themes, and students participate in site visits in and around Milan that demonstrate how engineering innovations continually improve urban living.
