Based in the exciting international metropolis of Shanghai, this
program provides UT students an unmatched opportunity to explore their
interests in China's cultural, economic, and business spheres through
specialized courses, a customized part-time internship, and excursions
during the semester or summer. Internship placements at local
organizations or companies allows students a customized experience to
meet their needs and career goals for a rewarding and eye-opening
experience.
Shanghai is a cosmopolitan city with something for everyone-from China
newbies to those with years of experience under their belt. And
whether you only know ni3 hao3 or can already hold a conversation, a
Chinese language class and local roommate help you make the most of
your time in the city.

Academic Information
This program accepts students of all language levels (beginner through advanced). Students enroll in a Chinese language course (semester - 6 credits, summer - 3 credits), 1-3 of the diverse English-taught courses, and may take part in an internship (150 hours, customized and available in a wide range of offerings).

- Open to all levels of Chinese, from absolute beginner to advanced

Housing
You share a furnished double room with a local roommate or a triple suite with one local roommate and one other CET student. Each suite has its own bathroom. The same building houses a shared kitchen space and a study room. Your classrooms and the cafeteria are just a 2-minute walk away, and the subway station is across the street.

Program Cost
Students pay $75 app fee, $19/wk overseas insurance, and $600 affiliated studies reg fee to UT Austin. Students pay an app and program fee (tuition, housing) to CET. Federal financial aid and scholarships apply for full-time summer (6 credits)/semester (12) enrollment. May be eligible for Freeman Scholars.
