MAYMESTER: ENGINEERING STATISTICS IN MILAN, ITALY

 

Engineering Statistics is a required course for most Engineering majors. The 5-week course is taught by Dr. Moriba Jah.

Milan is one of the most multi-cultural, livable and developed cities in Europe, and is a major hub for culture, business and science in Italy. The city will be a laboratory for the students to work on course problems and projects.

This program is an opportunity to expand personal and professional networks, gain a sense of direction for future careers, and to learn in a multi-cultural team and environment.

Academic Information

This course counts as ME 335, BME 335, PGE 337, Statistics for COE and is a major course requirement for ME, BME, PEN, GEH, and COE. Aerospace elective for ASE. (Counts as UDV Math for Math majors; special note for Math, contact coordinator). Other majors consult academic advisor.

Faculty

Dr. Moriba Jah is a world-recognized subject matter expert in astrodynamics-based Space Domain Awareness sciences and technologies. His expertise is in space object detection, tracking, identification, and characterization, as well as spacecraft navigation.

Eligibility

  • Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee acceptance
  • Students must be in good academic and disciplinary standing.
  • All engineering, math and physics majors are welcome.
  • Pre-req M408D (with at least a C-). Additional pre-reqs for ME and PGE
  • ME majors also need M 318M and M427J. PEN also need PGE 310.
