Located on a spacious, green, and hilly campus, CUHK has over 5,800 staff members, 20,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students representing 45 different countries. A premier tourist destination in Asia, Hong Kong is a unique fusion of Eastern and Western cultures with steel sky-scrapers, festivals, and incense-filled temples.

Students take regular university courses with students from the host country. There is no prior language requirement as a wide selection of courses is taught in English.

Academic Information

Students must enroll in the equivalent of 12 UT hours of coursework per semester and 6 UT hours during the summer while at CUHK. Please check My Credit Abroad database for courses that have been previously evaluated. If courses are not listed, please work with your Program Coordinator to get courses pre-approved.

Housing

Exchange students are offered on-campus housing at CUHK. The dorms are subsidized and the cost for an entire semester is similar to the cost of a month of rent in Austin. Options vary by your undergraduate or graduate status (check program website for more information).

Program Cost

Students pay a $75 non-refundable application fee and regular UT tuition, and are responsible for airfare, passport/visa, housing, food, local transportation, and other costs of living. Students are required to purchase international health insurance. Financial aid and scholarships may be used.

Students pay a $75 application fee, $500 Exchange Admin fee, and regular UT tuition for their semester exchange. Students are responsible for airfare, passport/VISA, housing, transportation, and costs of living. Participants pay required emergency health insurance coverage at $19 per week. Financial aid and scholarships can be used.
