Academic Information

Students pick a different (or the same) destination for each of the three blocks, taking two courses per block. Students can participate in the first two blocks to be considered fully enrolled for the semester. Options to study, intern, research, or volunteer in any of the three blocks. CIEE application deadlines vary.

Faculty

Open Campus is where you, the student, get to control the design of your study abroad experience - from courses, to length, to destination! Every class either counts as 3 or 4 hours, and students are encouraged to take 12-16 hours of classes. Classes are taken alongside other CIEE students at the CIEE study center.

Housing

All programs automatically offer Standard Housing, which is included in the program fee. Each program location offers its own selection of housing types; homestays typically include some meals.

Program Cost

Students pay a $75 application, $19/wk overseas insurance, and a $600 affiliated studies registration fee to UT Austin. Students pay an application and program fee (tuition, housing) to CIEE. See the Provider website for details. Federal financial aid and scholarships apply for full-time summer (6 credits)/semester (12) enrollment.
