This course will emerge students with experiences that allow them to gain an understanding of sustainability from a Scandinavian perspective by living and experiencing the local lifestyle and researching the circular economy from a fashion industry perspective. Students will engage with industry leaders in the local fashion industry who draw in experts from all over the world for the Global Fashion Agenda, Copenhagen Fashion Week and The Sustainable Fashion Summit. This course is open to all students across campus to create an interdisciplinary and collaborative environment inclusive of all backgrounds and degrees of study.

Academic Information
Students will enroll in a 3-credit hour course, TXA 365, where they will learn about sustainable fashion in Denmark and beyond with hands-on, experiential learning opportunities.
Faculty
Jessica Ciarla is an Associate Professor in the Division of Textiles and Apparel and a fashion designer and entrepreneur who has worked in the private sector. She enjoys mentoring students from diverse disciplines and continues to develop partnerships for collaborative learning experiences.
