In collaboration with GivePower and Kenyan partners, evaluate and
design operation alternatives for power and water systems. Work as a
design team to meet program goals based on knowledge and skills
acquired in previous capstone course.
You will spend half of the May Term abroad analyzing desalination and
solar power units in communities a few hours hours away from the
capital city of Nairobi.
During the spring semester prior to departure, you will be actively
preparing for the May Term abroad.

Housing
While doing field work outside of Nairobi, students live in a tent camp. Meals are provided. Students are required to live in program housing.

Program Cost
The flight, living accommodations and most meals are arranged by the program. Students pay UT a program fee, app fee and health insurance. They also pay separately for medical exam clearance, travel counseling and required vaccinations. Electronic visa for Kenya, passport, and their personal supplies.
