INTRODUCTION TO MEDICAL IMAGE PROCESSING AND INDUSTRY

Students take a course with a UT professor and are concurrently placed in a part-time internship with biomedical companies, laboratories, or medical shadowing in Thessaloniki. Internships are for credit and conducted in English. The engineering course introduces theory, methods, and applications related to medical image processing through project-based learning. Though we will discuss a range of applications, the focus will be on radiation oncology and leverage the scientific and clinical expertise in Greece to provide a context for the global significance of medical image analysis. Students experience the region's unique culture through program activities centered around food, art, music, and the region's natural beauty.
