LONDON CRIMINALS AND CORRESPONDENTS: TRUE CRIME PODCASTS: HOW REPORTERS PROTECT THEIR MENTAL HEALTH

*Page being updated for 2026* London has some of the most compelling, most important, and most researched crimes in world history. During the first half of the semester, students will listen to relevant true crime podcasts and visit the actual locations in London to discover why and how these crimes made history, and what we can learn about our own society today by learning about them. True Crime podcasts deal with someone's worst days. For journalists, this is often the norm in their work from covering car accidents, murders and fatal fires. The second half of the semester aims to prepare students for the mental health challenges associated with working in journalism. Some of the best journalists in the world are based in London and we'll view the field of mental health through their eyes.
