*Program page being updated for 2026* This undergraduate course based in Barcelona, Spain introduces students to emergent research on Latinx identity in K12 and higher education, focused on the topic of masculinity as it is theorized and practiced in the US and Spain. Students will be hosted by a local partner and will have the opportunity to students and faculty and participate in service-learning projects with local organizations. We have a number of planned excursions to Madrid and Granada. Great for students seeking: coursework surrounding issues of gender and masculinity, Mexican and Mexican American history and immigration, anthropology, history, sociology and cultural arts.

Students earn 3 hours of in-residence credit and participate in service learning activities. Courses must be taken for a grade. The grade is factored into UT GPA.

Program Cost
Program fee includes $500 deposit, housing, breakfast and lunch daily, excursions, administrative and on-site orientation. Program fee does not include airfare, books, insurance, local transport & personal expenses. Scholarship applications are due by November 1,2025.
