The western tip of Europe is steeped in ancient history, creating a rich base to launch your study of the Portuguese language and culture. Spend the semester immersed in Portuguese culture at CIEE Lisbon while taking courses in English or Portuguese at CIEE and CIEE's partner schools, FCSH-UNL (Faculdade de Ciencias Sociais e Humanas - Universidade Nova de Lisboa) and ISCTE-IUL (Instituto Superior de Ciencias do Trabalho e de Empresas-Instituto Universitario de Lisboa). All courses are complemented with CIEE co-curricular activities and excursions beyond the city to enhance classroom learning and provide intercultural understanding.

Academic Information
The Language and Culture study abroad program in Lisbon, Portgual is designed for students of all levels of Portuguese, beginner to advanced. Advanced Portuguese students are able to directly enroll in a local university.
Faculty
Students can attend any of CIEE's semester and summer programs in Lisbon. Please include the program link in your UT application. Program costs can be found in the specific program pages, budgets listed on the UT program page are an estimate. CIEE application deadlines vary.

Housing
Housing is included in the program fee. Students are primarily housed in homestays but there is also also a limited number of rooms available at the university dorm. Budget is tailored for a homestay including two meals/day.

Program Cost
Students pay a $75 application, $19/wk overseas insurance, and a $600 affiliated studies registration fee to UT Austin. Students pay an application and program fee (tuition, housing) to CIEE. See the Provider website for details. Federal financial aid and scholarships apply for full-time summer (6 credits)/semester (12) enrollment.
