Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane offers an American liberal arts
educational experience on an architecturally stunning modern campus
amidst the glory of Morocco's Middle Atlas Mountains. Known for its
international scope, purpose, and influence, roughly 30% of the
university population are international.
The university boasts a comfortable, safe, and exciting residential
student life on campus featuring hundreds of student-run activities,
with over 96% of undergraduates living on campus with roommates from
Morocco and the world.
Participate on exchange for a semester, year-long, or summer term,
paying UT tuition and taking any classes in AUI's course catalog; or
participate on the ARANAS summer program as an affiliate, paying the
program fee to AUI.

Academic Information
AUI follows a North American curriculum with classes taught in English. Students take 15 credits (5 classes) during the semester. Language courses in Arabic and French are offered each semester. Summer exchange for regular courses (See Special program below for summer for Arabic & N. Afr Studies).

Housing
Exchange students are required to live in university housing and use a meal plan. There are 16 dormitories located on campus that are equipped to house 1000 students. Most students will live in shared rooms. The rooms are well-furnished, spacious and in walking distance of all university facilities.

Program Cost
Students on semester programs will pay additional infrastructure fees to Al Akhawayn upon arrival, no more than a few hundred dollars plus the cost of housing and food. Housing deposit and meal plan must be paid in advance of semester.
