FREIBURG (ALBERT-LUDWIGS)

Freiburg is in Baden-Wuerttemberg in Southwest Germany, the industrial heart of the country, close to the Schwarzwald. It has a lovely old city very friendly to students with cafes, bike garages and paths, and student hangouts and clubs.

Freiburg has a lot of courses in English in the English and American Studies dept, and is ranked #1 for Forestry (Sustainability) in Germany. Students must have at least beginner German (A1) to go only taking courses in English. Students must have advanced (B2/C1) to take courses in German.

The German calendar for Fall term extends into March, so students usually go in Spring (summer semester), or for the full academic year. Students who wish to participate as an affiliate program may apply through IES: Freiburg.
