DIS - Study Abroad in Scandinavia is a government-recognized, high-quality study abroad program established in 1959. All DIS courses and academic programs are intellectually stimulating, challenging, and are all taught in English. But at DIS, study abroad is not solely about academics, it is about providing a one-of-a-kind opportunity for students to experience new situations and build and develop leadership skills for a globalized world. Students choose one core class from a selection of over 20 programs and pick elective courses from over 200 academically rigorous courses. These courses are from across a broad spectrum of disciplines taught by mainly local Danish faculty. The program is based in Copenhagen, Denmark, a cosmopolitan city of 1.5 million people. Over 800 years old, the city has repeatedly been recognized as one of the cities with the best quality of life. It is also considered one of the world's most environmentally friendly cities, with about 2 out of 3 citizens commuting to work by bicycle.
