ESADE BUSINESS SCHOOL

 

McCombs School of Business BBA, undergraduate iMPA and MBA students have the opportunity to study on exchange for a semester at the ESADE School of Business. Founded in 1954, ESADE is ranked 7th among European business schools and 18th in the world. Barcelona, located a few hours from the French border and on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, is a city rich in culture, history, art, architecture and sporting events. The second largest city of Spain with a population of 1,615,908, Barcelona recognizes both Catalan and Spanish as official languages.

Students take regular university courses with local students. Prior foreign language requirement is only required for BBA exchanges. Participants earn regular UT in-residence credit. All grades earned for the courses undertaken are computed into the official UT GPA.

Academic Information

Many courses are taught in Spanish, but a limited number are available English. The business campus is in Sant-Cugat, a suburb of Barcelona. Free Spanish l courses. Not all courses are worth 3 credits.

Housing

University housing is not available. However, accepted students can access ESADE intranet, which provides housing information for students. It is highly encouraged that students arrive to Barcelona in advance to search for housing.

Program Cost

Students pay a $75 application fee, $500 Exchange Admin fee, and regular UT tuition for their semester exchange. Students are responsible for airfare, passport/VISA, housing, transportation, and costs of living. Participants pay required emergency health insurance coverage at $19 per week. Financial aid and scholarships can be used.
