Paris delights and inspires newcomers with the paintings in the Louvre, the grand boulevards, and a skyline marked by the Eiffel Tower and the Gothic spires of Notre Dame. The Parisians are also very proud of their rich cultural life, with more than 300 theaters, 400 cinemas, and many concert halls.

Academic Information

IES offers multiple program tracks: French Studies; Business & International Affairs; Studio Art, Dance & Music in the semester. The French Studies program is taught entirely in French. The summer program offers beginner, intermediate, advanced, and internship tracks.


Students enroll in 15 to 19 credit hours per semester at the IES Center and/or local universities depending on their program track.

  • Minimum 2.75 GPA and at least sophomore standing
  • French Studies: At least 4 semesters of French language proficiency
  • Business & International Affairs: No previous language required

Program Cost

Semester UT applicants receive a $2,000 grant. These grants are already deducted from the sample budgets below. Additional scholarship/grant opportunities can be viewed on the IES website. Dates and prices differ by program track. The budgets below are based on the French Studies programs. See the IES website for more details.
