- Quito, Ecuador
Quito, Ecuador's capital, sits high in the Andean foothills at an
altitude of 2,850m. Constructed on the foundations of an ancient Incan
city, it's known for its well-preserved colonial center, rich with
16th- and 17th-century churches and other structures blending
European, Moorish and indigenous styles. Quito, an architectural
jewel, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Now Quito is a bustling city
with nearly 2 million residents, with lots to explore.
IES Quito offers several programs: Areas Studies and Language
(semester) - Direct Enrollment at Universidad San Francisco de Quito
(semester) and Galapagos summer program.

- Direct Enrollment: Successful completion of SPN 327C or equivalent

Students are housed in homestays throughout the city with some meals provided.

Program Cost
Students pay $75 app. fee, $19/wk intl. insurance, and a $600 affiliated studies registration fee to UT. Students pay an app. and program fee (tuition, housing) to IES minus a $2000 grant (long sem. only). See IES website for details. Federal fin. aid and scholarships apply for full-time status (6 summer/12 semester credits).
