- Rio De Janeiro, Brazil
The Pontificia Universidade Catolica do Rio de Janiero (PUC-Rio)
offers UT students an excellent opportunity to take a variety of
regular university courses, taught in Portuguese, alongside local
students. Pre-term intensive Portuguese classes are available so that
students can improve their language skills prior to beginning regular
classes.
The city of Rio de Janeiro, nicknamed "The Marvelous City," is known
for its beautiful beaches and breathtaking views from the lookout
points at the Christ the Redeemer statue and the Sugarloaf mountain.
Participants earn regular UT in-residence credit. All grades earned
for the courses taken are computed into the official UT Austin GPA,
just as they would be for grades earned in courses taken on campus.
