UT Austin students have the opportunity to study at Thammasat
University in Bangkok, Thailand. Founded in 1934, Thammasat University
is the second oldest university in Thailand and has become one of
Thailand's leading institutions of higher learning with over 22,000
students. The city of Bangkok is endowed with a long history of
cultural heritage, economic dynamism and social diversity amid an aura
of the modern development. Thailand draws more visitors than any other
Southeast Asian country and has festivals linked to Buddhist or
Brahman rituals following a lunar calendar.

Open to all students; however, UT Austin students must enroll in at least 3 classes taught by the Faculty of Economics at Thammasat and one Economics class. Outside this, students may also enroll in any classes offered by other departments.

Many courses are available that fit nicely into the McCombs BBA degree plan. Finance internships for Juniors and Seniors are possible depending on availability on a case by case basis. Apply early for internships. Thai language courses are offered. Don't book air travel until Thammasat confirms the exact dates for your term abroad.

Program Cost
Students pay a $75 application fee, $500 Exchange Admin fee, and regular UT tuition for their semester exchange. Students are responsible for airfare, passport/VISA, housing, transportation, and costs of living. Participants pay required emergency health insurance coverage at $19 per week. Financial aid and scholarships can be used.
