- Uppsala, Sweden
Uppsala University is located in Uppsala, Sweden and is the oldest Scandinavian university. Forty-five miles north of Stockholm, Uppsala is known for its blend of history and modernity. Uppsala is home to the Archbishop of the Church of Sweden, yet it is also a technological center for research and development. The university offers a broad range of courses in English, attracting some of the top students from across Europe. Students are expected to take an active role in their studies and will be held to the same expectations set for their Swedish peers. Uppsala has a very involved student body and American students will find integration very accessible. All students are required to join a student nation, which provides students with access to social and sporting events and general information through their Swedish compatriots. Students will earn regular in-residence UT credit. All grades are computed into the official UT GPA, just as they would be for grades earned in courses taken on campus.

Academic Information
Students will take most courses at the C and D levels (intermediate to advanced) in their chosen field(s). Courses are scheduled in blocks of 2 courses for a set number of weeks. This usually means all students take only three over the course of the semester to fulfill full-time enrollment.
Faculty
Courses are taught by local and visiting international faculty. Academic culture is very independent. The majority of your grade is usually dependent on one final exam, paper, or presentation. Students with previous research experience can do research projects on advanced courses for credit.
