To execute and oversee all aspects of a comprehensive marketing program for the Dell Social Innovation Challenge program (DSIC), and its evolving partner brand, Verb. Responsible for increasing visibility, developing strategies to achieve specific performance targets, and evaluating program results.

Essential Functions

Oversee all marketing activities related to DSIC, including (1) deploying effective global marketing initiatives to drive key performance indicators; (2) testing and refining the marketing campaigns to maximize effectiveness and resource efficiency; (3) working closely with Dell, the DSIC Account Manager and Verb team to set marketing goals, align strategies and maximize available resources; (4) developing and authoring an effective marketing strategy for the challenge, including customer segmentation, analysis of past and present marketing strategies, clearly defined marketing objectives and planned marketing strategies for the year ahead; and (5) identifying and initiating market and consumer research to enhance program design and marketing initiatives. Oversee marketing activities related to the Verb platform and global community, including: (1) creating and coordinating program messaging to establish the "voice" of the brand and maximize marketing effectiveness and ensuring that all Verb communications are consistent with the brand voice, including web copy, marketing messages, PR communications, public speaking and more; (2) developing a Verb marketing and messaging strategy that maximizes the reach and impact of a "family" of challenges, leverages a growing global community, and positions the program as an industry leader; (3) overseeing all Verb marketing and messaging initiatives, including social media, digital media assets (video, web-site), events (including Verb Awards); (4) participation in development of the PR strategy along with the Associate Director and contracted PR firm; (5) managing key contractors, such as creative and branding agency, event production company, video and digital media asset companies, and PR firm; (6) working closely with Dell and other key strategic partners to coordinate messaging and marketing initiatives and to maximize leverage of partner resources to meet program objectives; (7) working with the Senior Project Manager to continue to develop and refine web platform design and functionality; (7) making use of marketing, branding, messaging and social media expertise to suggest refinements and enhancements that advance program objectives; and (8) creating a Verb "Marketing Toolkit" to enable partner competitions to successfully implement and grow their programs.

Required qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related field and six years of operational experience actually creating and deploying marketing initiatives. Possess previous management experience. Possess a track record of successful campaigns. Candidates will be asked to report on success metrics of previous campaigns. Experience marketing to university students. Experience with a variety of media (web-site development, video production, social media). Possess strong messaging, copywriting, and quantitative skills. Must be well-suited to working in a fast-paced "start-up" environment with short timeframes, rapidly changing requirements and expectations, and limited resources. Must be a self-starter and able to produce very high-quality work with limited direction and minimal supervision. Able to set a course of work and mobilize the necessary resources needed to realize it. Able to interact successfully with high-profile stakeholders as well as direct reports and other team members. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree. Experience marketing to global audiences. Experience in public relations and/or managing a public relations firm. Experience in event production and/or oversight of event production for large, high-profile events.
