Additional Information


Provides technical production expertise for and daily oversight of KUT's AudioVault (AV), a digital audio management/distribution system that provides KUT's broadcast audio. Provides technical support and production support for KUT programming department as assigned or needed.

Essential Functions

Provides day-to-day technical support for KUT's digital audio management/distribution system-AudioVault. Responsible for all day-to-day content ingest from PRSS Content Depot and other content sources. Responsible for quality control (QC) on all downloaded content. Responsible for QC checks of all pre-recorded shows. Responds to issues from daily discrepancy log for traffic and music. Verifies music and traffic log import/export. Responsible for notifying AV administrator with technical problems involving hardware or software. Acts as primary trainer for users and operators of AV. Provides additional technical support as needed or assigned for KUT programming department. Maintains KUT's subscriptions and user information in the PRSS Content Depot. Point person for staff questions regarding AV and responsible for deciding if programming or tech issue. Provides backup technical production support for KUT News, Music and web as able and needed while maintaining high production values. Primary backup for the person responsible for the day to day operation of KUT's Marketron Traffic System and for station's AV Administrator. Provides production support as needed or assigned for KUT programming department. Trains on-air personnel on voice tracking and pre-recording of shows and assists with process when necessary. Edits these shows and other KUT shows as needed or assigned. Produces spots, undertakes special projects, and produces program automation for KUT, KUTX and HD Radio streams. Assists in field and audio production as assigned. Attends all required programming meetings and provides positive input to process. Participates in station events, university service, and membership drives as needed or assigned. Deliberately builds and maintains cross-functional collaborations with other KUT departments/staff and vendor/partners in support of achieving KUT's public service commitment. Maintains productive relationships at work by frequently communication with partners, providing status updates, and addressing issues. Gathers other people's input for significant decisions and projects. Is viewed by peers and supervisors as an available and helpful resource and partner.

Required qualifications

High school graduation or GED. Four years of experience in the skilled use of systems and equipment related to the functions. Two years of experience in use and support of radio automations systems with AudioVault, Prophet, ENCO or other related systems. Professional demeanor, good organizational skills, and good interpersonal skills. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree. More than two years of experience in use and support of radio automations systems with Audio Vault, Prophet, ENCO or other related systems. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with editing and mixing with ProTools (7.0 or later) and similar digital audio editing/workstation applications (Adobe Audition, Cockos Reaper, etc.). Working knowledge of the above applications and demonstrated ability to instruct others in their use. One year of on-air experience in radio.
