General Notes

Applicants selected for interview will be required to give a 20 minute presentation on UT Arlington and provide 2 writing samples. One writing sample must be in the form of a letter to a prospective student and one writing sample must be in the form of a letter to a high school or college counselor.

Additional Information

Purpose

To provide quality customer service to our prospective students and families in the Prospective Student Center (Recruitment Office).

Essential Functions

Will work with student team (approximately 15 students) to reach our prospective students via phone campaigns. Will work with student team (approximately 6) to provide quality customer service at the front desk lobby of the Prospective Student Center (Recruiment Office). Create daily, monthly and weekly reports related to the results of calling campaigns, visitors to the front area of the Prospective Student Center and call volume to the front desk. Create and coordinate calling campaigns for telecounseling program. Participate in recruitment activities on and off campus including but not limited to Preview Day(s) and college fairs.

Marginal/Incidental functions

Other functions as assigned.

Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.

Required qualifications

Bachelor's degree. 2 years of experience in counseling students in academic and scholastic matters, with a broad knowledge of institutional admission requirements. Applicants must include in their online resume the following information: 1) Employment history: name of company, period employed (from month/year to month/year), job title, summary of job duties and 2) Education: school name, degree type, major, graduated or not, and hours completed if not graduated. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Excellent communication skills, including the ability to speak in front of large groups. Computer skills, including, but not limited to Microsoft Office. Ability to speak Spanish.

Working conditions

May work around standard office conditions Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation Day and overnight travel required. Must have reliable transportation. Some evening work required. Criminal background check conducted.
