The design, development and implementation of institutional information security programs, disaster recovery programs and enterprise security standards aimed at improving service delivery and improving resource availability for student, faculty and staff users of institutional information services
Security monitoring and troubleshooting for the institutions information systems. Provide ongoing security updates as required to maintain high levels system availability and user service, timely resolution to all user account issues and security- related service delivery issues and user training for a variety of security related topics. Represent the institution as required by duties assigned to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).
Other related functions as assigned.
Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.
Relevant vendor, military and/or industry certification, 3 years direct information system experience excellent verbal and written communications skills 3 years of progressive experience in the implementation, auditing and support of information systems and security strategies in multi-vendor environments Experience with monitoring and support of MS windows AD environments. Highly proficient in all aspects of Microsoft windows server environments, security aspects of the Linux operating system, TCP/IP protocol suite and in all phases of duties performed. Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent field. 4 years experience in information system administration and support. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Security certifications such as Microsoft MCP, CISSP, SCNP and/or GIAC. 4 years of progressive information security experience. Knowledge of the state of Texas computer security regulations. Knowledge of information system auditing and compliance tracking.
