The assistant coach is to assist the head coach with all that is required to run a successful diving team.
Coaching all level divers, beginner to elite level, as directed by the head coach. Following practice and meet schedules appropriately. Be adaptable to changes in practices or competitions. Creating participation guidelines for all level divers. Participate in developing and educating the fellow assistant coaching staff. Assist with the team fund raising efforts. Recruit new athletes to Longhorn Aquatics Diving program. Travel to meets and team events. If appointed, serve professionally as the representative, of Longhorn Aquatics at all required meetings on the University, Local, Regional, and National levels.
Other related functions as assigned.
Experience coaching age-group level divers. USA Diving Membership and/or AAU Membership, First Aid Certification, CPR certification. Equivalent relevant experience may be substituted as appropriate. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Two or more years coaching age-group level divers. Professional demeanor. USA Diving Safety Certification. Coached and judged at local, regional and national dive meets. Belt spotting on all diving apparatus (i.e. trampoline, dry-boards, platform). Prepared workouts for each diver designed to accomplish individual goals. Prepared participant guidelines for all diving levels novice to senior/elite level. Conducted and supervised diving team events and participation in competitions.
