This position will work nine months i.e., from mid August until mid May. Exact dates will depend upon class begin and end dates.
To provide short-term individual and group counseling, and crisis intervention services to undergraduate and graduate students.
Provide short-term individual and group counseling, and crisis intervention to undergraduate and graduate students. Case Management and Care Coordination. Attend staff meetings. Provide limited clinical training and supervision to social work and psychology interns and doctoral level practicum students. Participate in multidisciplinary clinical team and collaborate with university departments and organizations.
Other related functions as assigned.
Masters degree in Counseling Education, Counseling and Guidance Services, Clinical Psychology, counseling Psychology or Social Work; and must be licensed in the state of Texas (LCSW, LPC, or LP). Demonstrated experience in providing brief individual therapy, crisis intervention, group therapy, care coordination, and case management. Experience providing culturally competent treatment to a diverse client population. Training and experience in clinical supervision. Excellent verbal and communication skills. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
At least three (3) years of significant experience in providing brief individual and group therapy. Experience working in a college/university counseling center or outpatient mental health setting. Experience providing mental health services to college students. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team of mental health clinicians. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with campus personnel, such as professionals in academic affairs and other student services providers. Demonstrated ability to work within a large system, and to participate and collaborate effectively in a large mental health services agency.
