This position is responsible for developing and maintaining software and systems to support Networking and Telecommunications services.
Develop and maintain software to integrate campus building security systems with University business processes. Administer servers and applications related to the operations of the campus building security systems. Define software development environment and processes for applications supporting the campus security systems and other Networking and Telecommunications services. Monitor servers and services and take proactive measures to ensure systems are functioning correctly. Administer server operating systems, network configurations, and security configurations. Participation in 24x7 on-call rotation for server and application support.
Other related functions as assigned.
At least 3 years of current or recent professional experience in software development. Experience developing middle-ware to integrate two or more independent systems. Working knowledge of server and systems administration on Windows and Linux platforms. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical and computer engineering, or equivalent work experience in relevant technology. Experience developing software in Windows and Linux. Experience working with systems integration of servers and services into an Active Directory environment. Experience administering servers in a virtualized environment using VMware ESXi. Experience designing and coding interactive user interfaces. Experience installing and configuring services (e.g. web, databases, remote access, etc.) on Windows and Linux platforms. Experience with building security systems.
