Additional Information


Manages all aspects of the campus one-card operations including the card services office, ID card privileges, access control, meal and debit plans, cash register system, and employee timekeeping system. Manages all aspects related to IT support for Auxiliary Services. Works collaboratively with OIT for system support.

Essential Functions

Human Resources and Operations Management: Interviews, hires, trains, evaluates, rewards, and disciplines assigned employees. Organizes, directs, and manages day-to-day operations of department. Provides project management services for installation and maintenance of electronic devices. Information Technology Management: Works collaboratively with University IT department and contractor technicians to deliver a secure and stable technology-based service to the University and Auxiliary Services. Monitors developments in hardware and software to ensure the application of updated technology. Fiscal Management: Develops and administers budgets. Ensures proper accounting and control over cardholder and departmental funds. Authorizes purchases. Recovers billable expenses. Controls inventory. Reviews statement of account monthly. Reports on campus card usage. Communications: Communicates effectively with cardholders, departments, and external audiences. Writes reports, business correspondence, policies, and procedures. Negotiates with vendors and contractors. Effectively promotes card services. Updates information. Customer Relations: Ensures high quality customer service to all University cardholders and Auxiliary Services IT users. Addresses complaints and resolves problems. Promotes effective relationships with campus departments and external clients. Compliance Management: Develops and administers policies and procedures. Complies with all university and UT system policies and applicable laws and regulations. Ensures security of sensitive information. Strategic Planning: Coordinates long and short range planning process, monitors and evaluates results, and adjusts plans as necessary. Provides leadership in the development and implementation of new card services and IT solutions. Department Representative: Advises and consults with administration and management regarding plans, issues, and problems. Represents the University in meetings and official gatherings. Ad hoc assignments related to IT support for the division of Administration and Campus Operations.

Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.

Marginal/Incidental functions

Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director, Auxiliary Services.

Required qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a business or computer related discipline. Ten years of full-time experience related to applying technology to meet business needs and supervisory experience, including training, managing, and evaluating staff in customer service and support roles. Class C Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident. Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree in a business or computer related discipline. Previous university experience managing a one-card program and managing IT support functions.
