To assist with and perform research to elucidate the mechanism of cellular machines and complex biological processes under direction of advisor.

Essential Functions

Perform molecular biology, protein biochemistry, cell biology, and kinetic experiments, as well as other laboratory work as directed. Perform experiments with yeast biology and human tissue culture.

Marginal/Incidental functions

Other related functions as assigned.

Required qualifications

Bachelor of Science or Arts degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or scientific-related field and no experience. Self-motivated and able to take initiative while meeting special research requirements. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in protein purification and analysis; Chemical biology experiment experience; using chromatography and electrophoresis systems. Technical knowledge is useful to modify procedures under direction of supervisor. Three or more years of experience in independent laboratory research.
