Provide Post-Award administrative guidance in the administration of complex research grants and contracts. Develop and maintain faculty and sponsor contacts. Assist in training presentations.
Communicate with principal investigators and advise them relative to federal, state, university and award rules, regulations and procedures. Prepare NCEs and prior approval requests including assuring appropriate justification documentation. Serve as primary resource for post-award grant questions; communicate with and provide detailed advice and instruction to faculty and staff regarding post-award administration; request corrections and resolve discrepancies; interpret rules, regulations and compliance issues with respect to sponsored awards. Provide timely, quality customer service. Maintain contact with public and private agencies that are sources of faculty research support. Participate in and oversee post-award administration activities such as preparing NCEs and prior approval requests, assuring appropriate justification documentation. Assists in the compilation of complex data and preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. Obtain requested reports from the principal investigators. Oversee ECRT function and ensure data accuracy including cost share information. Review and negotiate continuing grants and cooperative agreements and incoming and outgoing subawards. Track grant and contract subaward status and reporting requirements. Know and understand sponsor and University policies and procedures. Act as a liaison to grant and contract accounting department. Participates in professional development training seminars/ conferences in related area.

Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, social sciences, or a related field. 2 years experience in the preparation and processing of research grants and-or contract proposals and in their administration, including 1 year of experience as a Grants and Contracts Specialist I or equivalent. Peoplesoft and ECRT experience preferred. Excellent communication skills preferred.
