Provide administrative and clerical support to project Principal Investigator and project team members.
Provide general administrative and clerical support to project investigator and project team members. Make travel arrangements and process travel reimbursements, prepare and write correspondence, assist with special projects, schedule meetings as needed. Manage grant budget, reconcile accounting transactions and produce expenditure reports monthly. Manage purchasing and process payments following university policies and procedures. Manage human resource functions for post-docs and student employees. Create position requests and assignments for undergraduate and graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in the HRMS system. Create tuition documents for graduate students in the UT Define system. Coordinate education and human resource development activities for grant participants. Arrange outreach activities with middle and high schools, K-12 students, and the general public at Explore UT and other on- and off-campus student programs. Arrange seminar and demonstration schedules. Refer pertinent information to the PI. Coordinate work with other campus departments. Handle other research-related administrative support tasks as assigned.

Bachelor's degree and one year of experience at the Administrative Assistant level, or high school graduation or GED, and five years of clerical experience, including one year of experience at the Administrative Assistant level. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work well as a team member. Demonstrated ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail and follow instructions without close supervision. Excellent interpersonal skills.
Experience working with contracts and grants. Experience with the National Science Foundation's FastLane. Knowledge of University mainframe applications. Working knowledge of UT Austin structure, policies, rules, and procedures, including travel. Experience working in an academic environment or at a university.
