Purpose

Provide journey level installation, repair and maintenance of building telecommunications horizontal cabling.

Essential Functions

Provide journey level installation, repair and maintenance of in-building telecommunications horizontal cabling. Coordinate the sampling of possible asbestos containing materials. Coordinate the abatement of materials testing positive for asbestos. Processes shop work orders and trouble tickets (to include asbestos processing). Run MySoft asbestos reports to ensure compliance, providing updates to shop supervisors and IT managers. Coordinate with customers to schedule work, and assign work orders to crews. Review work order packages and MySoft work orders and trouble tickets for accuracy. Release work orders and trouble tickets when field work complete.

Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.

Marginal/Incidental functions

Other related functions as assigned.

Required qualifications

High school graduation or GED. Five years of experience in telecommunications horizontal cabling, including three years of journey level experience. Experience working with MySoft, and knowledge of current asbestos policies and procedures. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

More than three years of telecommunications horizontal cabling journey level experience with some of the experience acquired at UT Austin. Has completed an Asbestos-Containing Building Material (ACBM) Abatement Contractor and or Supervisor training course. Certified as an Asbestos Operations and Maintenance Supervisor.
