Manage business functions for student newspaper advertising operation (scheduling, billing, reports, quotas and commissions); fiscal management and budgeting functions for Student Publications (departmental accounts, monthly account reconciliations, budget preparation and projections, etc.); and other responsibilities.
Manage advertising business functions for The Shorthorn student newspaper: Verify information, schedule ads, produce billing statements and monitor payments and accounts, prepare sales quota and commission reports, serve as backup for Advertising Manager. Perform fiscal management and budget management responsibilities for Student Publications: maintain epartmental accounts, produce financial reports including monthly and annual reconciliation reports, process purchasing and payments for departmental operations, process travel and reimbursements, ensure departmental compliance with University processes, rules and procedures. Develop and maintain relationships with regional businesses, to generate revenue for The Shorthorn.

Bachelor's degree or experience in related field. Two years of bookkeeping, account, AP/AR or related experience. Proficiency in business management /accounting-bookkeeping / billing-accounts receivable etc. functions. Proficiency in computer applications necessary to perform assigned functions. Strong people skills / professionalism in dealing with colleagues, students and various publics. Ability to work with students and in a student-cenered environment. Ability to understand and perform responsibilities within University processes, procedures and policies and within best practices for functions related to The Shorthorn. Experience in Define, HRMS and other systems used by UTA, and with MediaSpan/Baseview/AMP systems used by Student Publications preferred.
