To provide highly skilled or specialized clerical and supervisory abilities for positions requiring the exercise judgment in making reviewed decisions in accordance with policies and procedures. Responsible for clerical operations of a large unit or a small highly specialized area.
Determines work priority of a service unit; develop and refine routines and schedules; evaluate incoming mail, reports, requisitions, or inquiries, distributing with instructions for actions to be taken in special cases; train and supervise student employees, maintain student work schedule and their payroll records; record and report pertinent knowledge to the supervisor; compose correspondence, submitting only the most complicated to the supervisor. Maintains attendance for all department employees. Maintains a high degree of confidentiality on all sensitive information this position is privy to. Complies with all State and University policies. Arranges complex and detailed travel plans and itineraries, complies documents for travel-related meetings, and accompanies supervisor when requested. Arranges programs, events, conferences, trainings, and meetings by arranging for facilities (and caterer), issuing information or invitations, coordinating speakers, and controlling event budget; assist Chief, Sergeants and others as required.
Other related functions as assigned.
Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.
High school graduation and at least five years of general clerical experience with some supervisory experience. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
A Bachelors degree or business school diploma.
