To provide timely and accurate advising to Bachelors and Master level students in the School of Social Work to ensure their timely and successful completion of their academic program.
Advise students on a semester by semester basis to evaluate and monitor progress toward degree completion. Connect students to the larger campus, and to refer students to additional services when needed to facilitate academic advancement. Utilize the University systems to verify student information and to ensure degree plans are accurate and up to date. Assist with student orientations and student organizations. Maintain statistical information as needed about the BSW and MSSW advising services. Serve as liaison between the School of Social Work and other relevant offices on campus.
Other functions as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree in Social Work. Four years paid work experience in higher education or human service field. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Master's Degree in Social Work. Two years experience counseling students in academic and scholastic matters.
