This position is located at the JJ Pickle Research Campus in north Austin.
To coordinate marketing communication activities for PETEX. To help develop and execute a strategic and tactical marketing plan to ensure PETEX's continued presence in oil and gas industry markets. This position is a dotted line report to the marketing unit of the Division of Continuing and Innovative Education(CIE).
Become intimately familiar with PETEX products, services, and markets. Write compelling content for PETEX products and services. Develop and coordinate approval of marketing materials including brochures, newsletters, fliers, display ads, articles, press releases, website content, email campaign messaging, and customer communications. Establish measurements and track effectiveness of campaigns. Work closely with CIE marketing team to leverage overall marketing activities. Develop and execute a short- and long-term marketing communications/advertising plan that addresses the needs of the PETEX products. Mine the CRM database for customer segments and marketing opportunities. Examine sales and customer data to plan relevant campaign initiatives. Identify, schedule, and execute effective tactics according to budget and deadlines. Coordinate with PETEX lines of business and operations to plan and execute tasks. Consult and work closely with senior management, editors, instructional designers, training coordinators, graphic designers, internal staff, and customers to develop planned and requested marketing materials. Conduct market research and competitive analyses to explore industry trends. Advise senior management on new initiatives and recommendations to positively impact key business areas based on PETEX's mission. Serve as the PETEX marketing point of contact for the enterprise. Participate on the CIE Marketing team. Plan effective promotional and website strategies. Work with the division central marketing function to stay apprised of trends and policies concerning University communications and public relations. Seek assistance from the centralized team as appropriate. Become familiar with industry associations and organizations that currently support or might potentially support PETEX initiatives. Research organizational involvement for marketing communication purposes including websites and media that might provide exposure of PETEX products and services and potentially provide other assistance of benefit to PETEX. Plan and monitor PETEX's presence at trade shows. Research potential events to attend. Participate occasionally with presence at trade shows by working at the booth to promote products and services. Oversee the collateral necessary to display and distribute in support of PETEX product lines as appropriate according to the nature of the event.
Other related functions as assigned. Drive a UT vehicle as needed. Must be able to travel for business purposes.
Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field. Three years of experience in promotions, marketing, or related field. Experienced and effective marketing communication writer. Experience developing marketing plans and measuring the effectiveness of the outcome. Experience conducting market research and competitive analyses. Experience with trade shows and exhibits. Comfort level and ability to travel and meet clients in various venues as requested. Ability to learn quickly and work well independently, on teams, and under pressure. Demonstrated exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Professional demeanor. Display confidence in relating to senior-level professionals both internally and externally. Willingness to travel as needed. Regular and punctual attendance at the workplace. Occasional extra work hours required according to business needs. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Degree in Marketing, Advertising, or Communications. More than three years of experience in promotions, marketing, or related field. People skills as demonstrated by experience in customer-centric settings. Knowledge of the oil and gas industry. Experience as both a team member and a team leader. Project management experience a plus. Public speaking experience and comfort level giving presentations.
