Purpose

Assists the Associate Dir. in the overall operation of Texas Hall, oversees the front-of house operations, manages the Texas Hall office including accounts receivable and accounts payable, and oversees concessions operations at multiple venues.

Essential Functions

Manages the Texas Hall office, maintaining all event/usage records, post-event invoices, and payment processing and approval. Researches, reviews and recommends equipment, materials and supplies required in providing event services and planning. Serves as Front-of-House Manager. Monitors in-house events, maintaining close contact with clients and facility staff to ensure successful events. Follows-up on all client requests, concerns and problems. Ensures crowd management and facility safety guidelines/regulations are adhered to and enforced. Provides overall guest services/customer service during events; handles disruptive and difficult customer situations. Coordinates activities with various event service contractors. Meets with client groups to plan and organize events. Attends appropriate planning, organization and other event and facility meetings in support of facility operations. Manages the operation of multiple campus concession stands. Oversees all hiring, scheduling and training of concession stand staff; ordering and inventorying all stock; and managing/reconciling working funds and deposits. For the College Park Center, this employee serves as an operations liaison with ARAMARK to ensure quality control and profitability.

Marginal/Incidental functions

Assist Associate Director with other functions as assigned.

Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.

Required qualifications

Two years of experience in public facility or hospitality management, marketing, or operation; providing direct on-site service to the public. Strong office administration skills and skills related to provision of public assembly facilities, public services and hospitality. Experience with the services, vendors and suppliers involved in producing major events. Must possess sound skills in planning, organizing and logistics; excellent interpersonal skills, and oral and written communication skills. Personal competencies in flexibility/adaptability and judgment/problem solving. Ability to respond politely to all individuals and work well as a team player. Working knowledge of MS Office including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Bachelor?s Degree in Hospitality Management, Theater Arts, Business Management or related field. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

IAVM Public Assembly Facility Management School graduate or other applicable industry certifications (CMP, CSEP, CMM, etc.). One or more years of concession stand management experience: Includes procuring food/beverage for resale; pricing products; hiring, training, supervising, and scheduling personnel; enforcing internal control measures; handling cash/credit operations in compliance with all applicable laws.
