One writing sample must be in the form of a letter to a prospective student and one writing sample must be in the form of a letter to a high school or college counselor.
To recruit prospective freshmen and transfer students from a specific territory to the University and counsel them on the admission process, general financial aid and scholarship, housing and other factors related to making a decision on college attendance.
Responsible for the recruitment of freshmen and transfer students to the University. Responsible for incoming and outbound phone calls, responding to written correspondence and e-mail from prospective freshmen and transfer students and their family members regarding admission to the University. The development of a territory written communication plan for monthly and yearly territory reports. Assist in the planning and implementing of all recruitment functions. Participate in off campus and on campus events (College Day/Night Programs, Preview Days and Receptions). Review applications for admission and counsel applicants regarding their eligibility status. Counsel prospective students and parents about the admission process and educational opportunities at the University. Answer questions of a complex nature regarding the University's admissions policies.
Other functions as assigned.
Bachelor's degree. 2 years of experience counseling students in academic and scholastic matters, with a broad knowledge of institutional admission requirements. Applicants must include in their online resume the following information: 1) Employment history: name of company, period employed (from month/year to month/year), job title, summary of job duties and 2) Education: If no high school diploma or GED, list highest grade completed; If some college or college degree, list school name, degree type, major, graduated or not, and hours completed if not graduated. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to speak in front of large groups. Computer skills, including, but not limited to Microsoft Office. Ability to speak Spanish.
