Purpose

Responsible for maintaining the integrity of warehouse materials inventory system.

Essential Functions

Interact with Warehousing and Procurement leadership to develop inventory and materials management strategies. Perform analysis of current inventory usage, shipping and storage. Monitor minimum and maximum levels of existing stock and make adjustments to max/min levels as required. Recommend purchase of new items or improved items to best serve departmental interests. Provide assistance in purchasing supplies, materials, equipment, and services. Serve as liaison between the Warehousing and Procurement, UT Purchasing Office, and vendors to fulfill procurement needs. Review, confirm, and alter stock replacement recommendations based on information gathered in FAMIS. Provide direction and recommendations for stockroom organization including bin labeling and part placement.

Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.

Required qualifications

Bachelor's Degree, and one year of experience in inventory control, maintenance management or any equivalent of experience, education, and training. Must have at least one year of purchasing experience with a background in materials management. Must have ability to operate and enter information in a computerized inventory system, perform simple arithmetic, communicate effectively with others. Must have proven knowledge of materials handling (including operation of motor vehicles, forklifts, or other material handling equipment), and inventory control procedures. Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Five years or more of experience listed above. Proven ability to manage complex materials inventory for large university or enterprise-level operations including thorough knowledge of maintenance materials purchasing. CPSM or CPIM certification a strong plus. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience using FAMIS, PointPlus, and UT Market. Successful completion of the Facilities Services and Project Management and Construction Services Leader Development program.
