Assist in the direction and management of the Sport Club Program including its programs, services, systems, policies and procedures, and resources; provide input and support to the Associate Director-Programs in assessing the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Sport Club Program.
Assist in the administration of the Sport Club Program to include advising student organizations, programming and calendar development, risk management procedures, rules and regulations, policy development, budget projections, financial management, equipment and supply purchases, scheduling, publicity and promotion of events. Recruit, hire, train, assign, and evaluate student personnel; maintain written employee materials and payroll coordination. Assist in the planning of meetings, training sessions and leadership development opportunities for club representatives and student staff. Coordinate the Youth Camp Program to include programming and calendar development, participant registration, rules and regulations, policy development, staff hiring, budget projections, equipment and supply purchases, scheduling, publicity and promotion. Successfully complete all training and background checks required for employees involved with youth camps. Provide on-site coordination and evaluation of activities; advise, address and resolve issues, problems, conflicts and concerns as assigned, and interact with club officers and members to ensure that accurate information is provided and positive experiences are attained. Maintain current information in field with particular emphasis in area of sport clubs. Attend conferences, prepare proposals and presentations, and serve on divisional and national committees. Investigate, procure and maintain the necessary equipment and supply items needed to support the Sport Club Program. Assist in the preparation of semestral and annual reports that includes statistical analyses, assessments, and recommendations. Serve as contributing member of divisional staff, attend and participate in regular staff meetings, and perform other duties as assigned.
Drive a University vehicle.
Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.
Master's degree in Recreation, Student Personnel Administration or closely related field. One year experience in a college-level recreational sports program. Demonstrated experience in personnel management. Exceptional interpersonal, leadership and motivational skills. Excellent organizational and planning skills, and written and verbal communication skills. Proficient computer skills.
At least one year of experience administering a Sport Club Program in a college-level recreational sports department, or a two-year graduate assistantship in campus recreation. Experience performing outreach and event planning. Direct experience administering one or more additional recreational sports program areas including Fitness/Wellness, Outdoor Rec, Instructional Programs and/or Intramurals.
