Additional Information

Purpose

Provides computer desktop end-user support and services for DHFS staff, customers and lab patrons. This includes responding to requests and problems, installing, monitoring, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all PC hardware, software, and equipment to ensure optimal workstation performance.

Essential Functions

Provide analysis and troubleshooting to resolve hardware and software issues for the Division. Assist the Infosys Team in the resolution of computer trouble tickets to include desktop support, Bevo Bucks and Dine-In Dollars point of sale systems and backup for server support. Document software and hardware installation and configuration instructions. Schedule Student Lab Proctors to ensure computer labs have adequate coverage, conduct periodic walk-through of the labs to ensure proper operations.

Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.

Required qualifications

Knowledge of computer and peripheral operations, installation, and troubleshooting. Knowledge of directory services and remote access tools. Demonstrated experience in IT customer service and help desk environment. Experience installing and supporting hardware, software and network systems in a multi-protocol environment. Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in a Window desktop environment to include common Windows software and knowledge of setting up computers and peripherals for users. Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently as well as the ability to work in a team environment. Strong customer service skills. Ability to learn in a fast paced environment. Adaptability. Class C driver's license. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CIS or equivalent. Previous experience in a desktop server support environment. Certified Information Systems Security Personnel-CISSP and or Global Information Assurance Certification-GIAC with Security Essentials Certification-GSEC.
