Assist with the management and administration of the Texas Parents' Association and Office, with a focus on event planning and communications.
Effectively plan, coordinate and manage all aspects of Texas Parents events and programs including, but not limited to, Family Weekend, the Celebration of Leadership Dinner, BookClub and Mooov-In. Attend events, overseeing the execution of the all details to ensure successful outcomes. Troubleshoot and implement contingency plans when necessary. Perform pre- and post-assessments and write summaries. Drive a University or personal vehicle. Collect, organize and write content for the monthly Texas Parents Member e-newsletter, invitations, brochures and other promotional pieces, and the monthly Division of Student Affairs newsletter. Oversee implementation of any campus electronic messaging. Perform design work and/or work with graphics designer for needed communication pieces. Develop, implement and maintain websites including the Texas Parents main website and special event sites. Ensure accurate information and timely updates are reflected in these communication tools. Advise, counsel, reassure and problem-solve for parents. Assist parents within the University's complex structure, culture and systems, and policies and procedures to reach desired outcomes for all parties. Assist the Membership Coordinator as necessary. Contribute to a team-centric and collaborative environment, functioning capably in a dynamic, fast-paced and growing office. Manage and participate in other Student Affairs, RecSports and University-wide projects and events. Prepare proposals and presentations, serve on campus committees, chair committees, and train and mentor students. Serve as a contributing staff member, substituting for the Director and/or other staff as necessary. Keep abreast of current events as they pertain to students and their families. Perform other duties as assigned.
Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.

Bachelor's degree. Five years of experience coordinating or administering a program. Demonstrated expertise with attention to detail, accuracy and problem solving. Event planning experience. Exceptional organizational and planning skills. Experience providing exceptional and professional customer service, and operating both independently and as vital part of a team. Exceptional writing skills and verbal communication skills. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of student programs, organizations and activities at The University of Texas at Austin. Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Direct experience performing tasks similar to the essential functions of the position. Large-scale and complex event planning experience. Supervisory experience. Knowledge of UT Austin policies and procedures, and UT history and traditions. Experience using iPhoto, FileMaker Pro, Convio, Contribute and the University's VIP system.
