Additional Information

Purpose

To provide valuable financial support services to the University community. This includes reconciliation of state funding, student related accounts, bank accounts, and other general ledger accounts. This position also assists faculty and staff with accounting needs.

Essential Functions

Reconcile State appropriation accounts. Includes downloading and analyzing financial data, processing entries in multiple accounting systems, requesting reimbursment, researching outstanding items, and recording journal entries necessary for reconciliation. Set up new accounts for university departments and performing account maintenance. Reconcile bank accounts as well as other general ledger university accounts. Process interfund transfers, journal entries, and approval of journal entries for university. Preparing financial schedules and reports. Establish working funds for university departments. Assist university community with accounting needs. Other duties as necessary to facilitate the university's financial processes and ongoing operations.

Required qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting. 5 years of experience in governmental or commercial accounting. Experience with standard office machines, knowledge of data processing, equipment capabilities, and personal computer. Proficiency in evaluating, observations, analysis, and reporting of financial data. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
