Additional Information

Purpose

To provide support to CSSB's Systems Administrator by assisting with maintenance of computer systems within the Center for Systems and Synthetic Biology.

Essential Functions

Provide tier 1 desktop support for faculty, staff, and students of the CSSB. This includes but is not limited to: system installations and updates, software installation, basic troubleshooting, cataloging software, hardware and manuals, maintaining printers and virtual machine set up. Develop infrastructure improvements for the CSSB desktop computing environment. This includes but is not limited to: automating system and software installs, developing group policies, maintaining CSSB websites.

Marginal/Incidental functions

Other related functions as assigned.

Required qualifications

60 Undergraduate Semester Hours or Associate's Degree. Three years of experience providing technical support to computer users. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Organized, self-motivated, attentive to details, and willing to learn. Knowledge of Mac OSX and/or Ubuntu. Helpdesk experience. Scripting/programming ability. Experience with Windows Active Directory.

May work around standard office conditions Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
