To apply theory and evidence-informed practices in order to develop and implement population-level interventions which promote mental health for the student population on The University of Texas at Austin campus.
Develop and implement prevention strategies aimed at increasing college students' emotional health and maximizing students' ability to attain academic success. Develop and implement peer education program to support prevention initiatives. Use health communications strategies and social marketing as part of a comprehensive prevention program. Coordinate organization's web and social media efforts. Train Counseling Center social work and pre-doctoral psychology interns in prevention models and supervise their involvement in prevention activities. Utilize theory and research to inform prevention priorities; use evaluation to assess prevention outcomes. Seek and cultivate interdisciplinary campus and community partnerships that advance health promotion initiatives. Serve as an integral member of the CMHC Prevention and Outreach Team.

Experience developing, implementing and evaluating comprehensive, population-based prevention initiatives. Experience applying an ecological framework to prevention strategies. Experience with peer education programs incl development of curriculum, recruiting and training peer educators and coordinating and supervising peer educator presentation. Demonstrated ability to implement interventions based on current trends/best practices in mental health promotion and mental illness prevention for the college population. Demonstrated skills with organizing and managing multiple complex job duties. Demonstrated commitment, interest and experience in working with diverse populations. Master's degree or advanced degree in public health, health education or closely related field with two years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified for the position. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
